Hey, Lucie.  Yea, I'm sure you're right that it's just a matter of time. I caught this after a total Hysterectomy - I'd hemmorhaged 3x/ died on the last go round.  Then 3 months after that, I played in the yucky water between the ocean and the bay on Sannibel Island (W. coast of Florida).  Since I never actually got in the water, I figured I was safe to wait to shower until the 2 1/2 hour trip home.  BOY WAS I WRONG!!!  By the time I'd gotten home, I felt like I was being attacked by an entire hive of bees.  That was 8 years ago.  How 'bout you?   How long have u had this crap?

Hi Pattie / Benjamin,

                          First of all Pattie, you are right. I got the same treatment from my family doctor as you got from your doc #15 and yet I sucessfully passed the psych eval. she sent me for with a verdict of "sane". Yet she tried to push me onto antidepressants regardless, which I refused. Isn't it strange though how most of us seem to be perfectly capable of holding down careers regardless of supposedly being "crazy". I'd never heard of "M" before either.

Benjamin my heart goes out to you. You're not the only person with this out there and it's not limited to the southern United States as I'm from Québec and was affected by this too after crossing a field in summer. There are people from all walks of life with this but I'm confident eventually they won't be able to simply discard it as being insanity or delusion, like everything else in life it's just a matter of time.

You say you've suffered for years? How long have you had it? I got it last summer (2011) myself. And you pattie?

Hey, Benjamin - nice to have you aboard!  (tho I wish we didn't have to meet this way!!!) You'll find a VERY welcoming home here on this support site!!  I can't tell you how much my life has improved through the friendships I've made here!

I'm laughin' about the timing of your post.  My friend sent me a link to about TEN different comments made on different sites - all letting the world know that we are all, collectively, insane!  Yea, insane - huh?  LMAO!

Like Renee said - yep... we all just decided to wake up one day and toss every semblance of reality out the window.  Started picking at our skin, tossed away our lives, our savings, our sanity.  And even tho the symptoms came first, somehow we all honed our insanity to fit in this bizarre insanity box!

My case is exceptionally interesting - b/c my symptoms came first & I went to 15 doctors, never even having heard of the big M!  I'm a computer dinosaur - so I can guarantee that I didn't investigate wierd symptoms and come up with the name Morgellons.  I never even hit a search engine in my life until doctor 16 told me what I had and that I should hit the internet and find some support online.  Of course, even after doc#15 did a biopsy which came back "unidentified parasite" - he still wanted me on an antidepressant, and sent me to a Psych.

Interestingly, the psych. had two other M patients - one a nurse, and one an attorney.  She took both cases all the way to the CDC, and all the CDC had to say was that we should "Seal our skin".  Umm, hey - CDC... what're we sealing our skin against?  They obviously know more than they're letting on. UGH!
