No this is not metal, it is a red fibere and a white fiber.  I have captured many red fibers from inside my couch where I sit; I have not found any where I do not sit. We have a three piece sectional and I try to stay off of two so one will be left behind when we are able to get out of this house.

 

I sent your question to an envirtonmental Doctor so lets see if I get a response.

 

Let mw know what you are doing now and I will see what I can add.

Dear Mary,

What is this? Is it two fibers?

Is it metallic?

The reason I'm asking, someone else has a loop which I believe is used in creating lipid bilayers.

Would you let me know if this is metal or not?  Thank you
