Tips On Cleaning "M" From Your Home/Hiding Places You May Overlook

One of the most important things we must do is keep our living envirement free of Morgellons. This is quite a task and can become very overwhelming because "M" is EVERYWHERE! It even hides in places you would not think to look.

I make sure to vacuum daily and sometimes 2 or 3 times. I also have a little dirt devil that I vacuum corners and furniture with. As I said in my blog, we emit a scent of some sort that brings the Morgellons to us. I carry a lint brush as well and am constantly swiping my clothes. If you look you can see the "M" lint on you and on the inside of your clothes.

Now when cleaning your home make sure you get your walls and ceilings as you will see "M" actually looks like cob webs. I usually take my broom and dip it in a bucket of amonia soapy water and drag the broom on my walls and ceilings. Always check you curtains and windows as they hide there. Make sure to vacuum your furniture and definatly get the undersides as well.

when you wipe your tables make sure not only to wipe the tops but get the bottoms too as well as the legs. Kitchen tables and chairs top and bottom too. Clean well under sinks and toilet, get all the undersides of everything. You need to clean your computer,TV,DVD players all electronics as this is a hotspot for "M".

On cleaning your lint trap in your dryer. Clean it after EVERY use. And don't just pull it off the trap with your bare hands. I always take it to the kitchen sink and spray it clean and puting on gloves to pick up the lint. If you don't get it wet as you pull it off the trap you will see all kinds og lints flying off it.

Clean the inside of the trap as well and wipe down the inside and outside of the washer and dryer.

If you have animals make sure to brush them daily but do it outside. Also keep them bathed. My dog has been responsible for infestations due to shedding. I learned the hard way about keeping my pet groomed.

As always keep your dirty clothes in sealed bags until you wash them. I actually put my clean clothes in bags inside my drawers. Not keeping your clothes lint free will get you reinfested fast.  Also I vacuum my bedding as well. Because "M" loves to sleep with you!!

You may find yourself getting frustrated because "M" is everywhere and just when you think you cleaned your whole house you will be shocked at how fast "M" comes back!!

I hope this helps you. I learned the hard way about keeping my house "M" free and actually it is never "M" free, however, it makes it safer by cleaning.

Denise,

Try using an Ultraviolet Sanitizing Wand on surfaces (bedding, clothes, etc).  Supposedly the ultraviolet light will kill a lot of bacteria, and help keep the bug population down.

I know this is an old post, however I wanted to add what we did... throw most of everything out including our clothing.  We are down to a more manageable situation. everyone's ideas have helped so much figuring out how to live.  No more hiding places for this stuff!!!  I've absolutely had it!!

Nik we did the same, you realize how easy it is to let go of your possessions when faced with the fight of your life.  By not having as much stuff in my environment for M to accumulate it has helped tremendously with the daily cleaning ritual.

My favorite cleaning item is my swiffer, I normally like to dampen the cloth and spray it with either Balsam Pine or Orange TKO before running it over my floors (which are bamboo). Because they are disposal it makes it very easy to mop the floors and do the walls as well.

That's my 2 cents for now.

Take care,

I've seen a huge reduction in long fibers now, even in general.  However, it seems like there is something much smaller that I can't seen filling the air causing headaches, fatigue etc. Have you tried an ionizer to knock particles out of the air?

Got pretty ill with each clean out of extra stuff.  The last clean out was going through clothes, and we threw them out.  Washing them with all I've been using: salt, moldstat, PineSol, baking soda did not work.  They were so infected with all kinds of fibers and "spores". Though I did notice how a lot of salt made the clothes cleaner and softer. (we must have hard water.)

We finally decided to buy new clothing made of noncotton.  Now there is a great reduction of stuff floating in the air.

So what happens next? Do you feel better?

Using UV, I'm thinking will grow this stuff.  Looking at Carnicom, if this is a credible source, he saw a greater growth at 375nm.  But he said this was blue light, I thought blue was about 420nm like the bilirubin lights?

Denise..very excellent.

How do we make it simple so people actually do it?

A long handled brush goes a long way..but you have to stop and clean it several times.

I've learned I can dump the dustpan in the toilet and the boom too...( a clean toilet..put one of those bleach bricks in the back)..then check your brushes and brooms...pull off the morgellons with a gloved hand..into the toilet with it.

I have a ceiling ball with brush fibers in a sphere and I spray it with ammonia..rub..because I have a stippled ceiling..then pick the "M" fibers off.  Even a few is cause for concern.

Walls can be hard..lots of mops push the stuff around..I think you have to do 6 by 6 sections at a time..and rinse it off as you go.

I used no smell varathane on problem closet and regular doors..worked like a charm.

The bathroom was really bad for re growth so I varathaned it..after washing it..black light showed many "M" fibers trapped in there..I hope they stay there.  The will grow through paint..even when extra fungicide is added.  so washing and rinsing and reapplying mold control works well before painting.  A lot more work...but not as much as picking the hair-worms out of your walls and ceilings.

The best paint still means regular cleaning maintenance.

I like what you said re the lint traps.  you can bet dryer brushes in any grocery/department store or hardware store..and clean the off after use...I learned the hard way..it's hard to get that stuff out.."M" if it gets embedded into the brush.

Really.... peroxide toothbrush and shaver after use.

You can sweep first..re before vacuuming.. easier..and there is a new broom..supposedly made to pick up "dog" hair..but would work for "M" worms too..has a plastic thing in the middle..retractable and extendable handle..very clever..says you can sweep carpets with it.

I clearly looks like a whole lot of people have this as the stores can't keep this stuff in stock..large baking soda boxes, borax..monostat, apple cider vinegar..and cleaning things..people trying to keep hospital standard cleanliness would use(which is what we need to get into)

Watch cleaners in restaurants and hospitals..a good education.

And guys need to get into this too..it's too much for one person.

If you have cleaners come in..they do meed to be coached and checked on.

Gordon does..and I pulled worms off of his ceiling a few days ago..the place is getting overrun..one can't just swipe over things as quickly as possible..you have to wet things and look and scrub a few times if heir worms are present..they cling.

And yes "M" stuff does get stuck on the inside of dryers...so they do need to be cleaned out..a little brush..the globs stick.

Your post was very clear.

I just want to add..it does get easier..at first it feels very onerous.

I put one set of clothes, and sheets  (dirty) per bag and spray with ammonia inside.  Then I put that in a container..to contain the smell.  I do it every 3 days or so.

Where a hat in the house..with a beak.  Long sleeves(light silk or poly) when possible when cleaning.

Tuck pants in socks.  Wash plastic house shoes several times a day..look at them.  Pu footwear in containers..after washing the soles..especially the ones you wear in the car.

Vacuum that drivers set section and floor really well..and the rest including the trunk every week.  Those car cleaning places have very good vacuums and are cheap.

I'm still fighting the battle..big infection right now..don't wear old clothes it you think they are iffy..re wash.  Wash coat every 2-3 wearing times..get one with a liner that can be washed...if you are in a cold climate..feathers require too much washing and drying time..the "dry-loft" from Mark's in Canada works well and dries great.

I realize everyone falls off the wagon..just get up dust yourself off and try again.

It's a process.

Every little bit helps..and when you are sick don't be too hard on yourself..without love..it's really hard to do anything..so ask for it..no shame.  This is darn hard..and now lot of people won't come out of the closet...so send love and prayers to all those who are struggling alone.

Love all of you and thanks again Denise
